Abstract

The isotopes of potassium were separated by means of a high intensity mass spectrometer and the beta-ray activity of each isotope was measured with a thin-walled Geiger-Müller counter. The measurements show that K⁴⁰ is responsible for both of the known bands of beta-particles.
