Abstract
A system consisting of an argon resonance lamp, photolysis cell, gas sampling valve and gas chromatograph has been assembled to complement the studies of ion-molecule reactions performed with ion cyclotron resonance techniques. Preparations are under way to study the proposed isomerization via an ionic mechanism of ethylene oxide to acetaldehyde by irradiating ethylene oxide and isolation and identifying the products on a 10' column of 25%β, β'-oxydipropionitrile on chromosorb P.
