Abstract

Boron nitride powder is injected into a pure argon gas plasma. The particles which glow due to the high temperatures in the plasma are used as tracers for the velocity measurement. The motion of the particles is recorded by photographic techniques. The results obtained are compared with values calculated from the temperature field in the plasma.
