Abstract
The differential cross-section for γ + ρ → K⁺ + Λ has been measured for a center of mass angle of 90° and for photon energies between 1100 MeV and 1300 MeV. Range telescopes detected both the K⁺ and the proton from the Λ decay. This experiment was performed in collaboration with D. E. Groom, who measured the polarization of the Λ hyperon in the above reaction. The electronic instrumentation for this experiment is emphasized here. The differential crosssection was found to remain nearly constant at 0.14 ± 0.01 µb/sr over the above energy interval.
