Abstract
The area under investigation is in the southeast corner of the Pomona quadrangle, Los Angeles County, California. It lies at the extreme north of the Puente Hills. It can be reached by the new Pomona-Brea canyon highway which cuts the map area almost in two, north and south, and is two and one half miles south-west of Pomona, California. Since these hills stand right up from the surrounding alluvium, they can be seen from a distance of at least five miles from any state highway running in and by Pomona.
The area described in detail is approximately 3850 feet east-west by 5000 feet north-south.
