Abstract
[Introduction] In recent years there has been a great deal of interest in organometallic alkylidene complexes as they are one of the postulated intermediates for the currently accepted mechanism of metathesis. Our interest was drawn to an aluminum stabilized titanium alkylidene because it had been reported to catalyze metathesis and to demonstrateother novel reactivity. This paper reports our results in the study of the chemistry of this complex.
