Abstract
A study has been made of the solvolyses of some acetoxy and trifluoroacetoxy compounds of cyclopentadienylmanganese tricarbonyl and of benzene. Also, a study of some addition reactions to the double bond of vinyl cyclopentadienylmanganese tricarbonyl has been made. Both studies show that an α-cyclopentadienylmanganese tricarbonyl carbonium ion is less stable than an α-ferrocenylcarbonium ion, but more stable than an α-phenylcarbonium ion.
