Abstract
I. The theoretical validity of the linear extrapolation of concentration gradient usually used in Archibald measurements of molecular weights is discussed.
II. Intrinsic and concentration-dependent hydrodynamic alignment of rod-like molecules are considered in an attempt to explain the observed increased sedimentation coefficients with field and concentration. An entropy mechanism is also discussed.
